Is this sedan hotter than the 3-series?

A battle is brewing in Germany and it will be in full swing by mid-2005.

It the 06 BMW 3-series vs. the 06 Audi A4.

We'll cast the first vote.

Although it's not perfect in our eyes (we'll go into detail in a future newsletter)we choose the 2006 BMW 3-series on looks and we think it will be a Bush-Kerry deadlock in sales.

In your opinion, who will be the winner?

What we'd like to know in our blogs is...

Which car is better looking AND which one will sell the best?

Will the 3-series finally be toppled?

How can you compare? Audi offers so much more for the money and the boys at BMW know it! Yes, Audi is the underdog, but when it comes down to it....quattro baby!

I own a 3 series now, but I was ready to jump (probably to an A4) if I found the styling of the new 3 unacceptable. But the new style is fine. Maybe not great, but more than acceptable. BTW, I would not say the same about the curent 7 or 5.

I think the A4 took a step back with the new grill, so both front ends are now questionable. From the side, both look good, but for the first time I would describe the BMW as the more modern of the two. Similarly for the interiors. The back view is the only one I'd give to Audi.

Mechanically, I think the pure RWD design with 50-50 weight distribution, and the new engines will keep the new 3 ahead of the Audi and other FWD-based competitors.

BMW is the clear winner in my book.

Hello again Folks,

A lot of mis-information here.

First, more than 90% of our cars are quattro, which sends 72% of the available torque to the rear wheels in the dry, so it's rear drive in the dry.

The A4 will out handle any Three series all day long. The DSC is far too agressive in all BMW's. You can't drive a BMW quick and smoothly thru the twisty bits without the DSC shutting you down.

The build quality of the current Audi's is the benchmark of all current German marques. No "cost cutting" in the Audi's. Have you looked under the hood of a BMW lately? Have you noticed the lack of paint (you see only their gray/beige primer)? If their worried about a few ounces of paint in an area that's very visable, where have they cut corners on the rest of the car?

The fit and finish of the current Audis is vastly superior to any current BMW. The quality of materials is also vastly better. The interiors of the current BMW's are very cheap looking, especially the plastic bits.

If you want to see what the new A4's going to look like, go to your local dealer and take a look at the new 2006 A6. You will pleasantly surprised!!

If you haven't seen or driven any of the current Audi's, you really can't make any legitiment comments about them.

In closing, we also don't have "I'can't'Drive" in any of our cars. You can actually sit in one of our cars and start it and drive it away. You don't need to sit through an hour and a half video before you can testdrive our products!!

I'll take the A4 exterior and interior wrapped around the 3-series driving dynamics please!!

Based on these pictures, I don't think there is any contest visually. The 3-series is the better looking car.

Even though I think the new 3 looks better than the A4. I am not really pleased with either design. Audi cleary F-d up the new A4. he grill is obscenely ugly. BMW didn't do a great job with the new 3 on the outside either. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as the current model. They really screwed up the interior. Either you want i-drive with its nob and 5 movements to do simple tasks or you want the funny lookin dash with that weird eyebrow thing on top. Basically they both suck I am getting a lexus or even a MB C-320.
