Tokyo Motor Show: Nissan GT-R Officially Revealed (new images)
After all the embargo and image leaks, Nissan has finally officially revealed the Nissan GT-R at the Tokyo Motor Show and that means we get a nice press release and brand-spankin’ new images. The Nissan GT-R will be powered by a 3.8 liter V6 engine that produces 473 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph takes a quick 3.5 seconds while top speed is 192 mph.

The Nissan GT-R also has a dual-clutch transmission, Brembo 6-piston brakes in the front and 4-piston in the rear, as well as Bilstein DampTronic suspension system.

Earlier, Motor Trend and others reported that the GT-R had a lap time of 7:35 around the Nurburgring. Sadly enough that turns out to be a false report. The Nissan GT-R actually did the Nurburgring with the lap time of 7:38.

Expect U.S. sales to begin late next year.

the most fascinating thing about this car rite now, even with all the power outputs, is the information display. it is really infromative in all necessary aspects.

the first pic makes this car looks really good...the front, i can say, is starting to look more and more appealing

I still think that it looks like its missing an air intake in the front kit. Other than that, I like it.

Anyone intelligent already knew that 7.35 was a false report, never mind fan boys purporting it to be faster than this number. 7.38 is a fantasy too, a back pedal of the worst kind. 7.44 is a more realistic "best" time around the ring as Nissan themselves have reported, not egmcartech.

I saw that later... 7.38.54 is hardly 7.38 flat. Nevermind that we still havent seen a dealer's lot car do this. Just a camo/concept car. It's even under the "concept" section of Nissan's website. The back pedaling of hype surrounding this car is just so incredibly irritating! I dont really care if it beats the Z06 or the 997T, the simple fact that it's being consistently advertised as something more than it is just bothers the heck out of me!
