Ghosn says Nissan is running below potential
After unveiling the hottest car in the world right now, Nissan’s CEO, Carlos Ghosn, says that the auto maker is performing below their potential operating margin.

“I consider that at Nissan, below 8 percent it is badly managed, above 8 percent it is well-managed. It is as simple as that,” Ghosn told a press today at the Tokyo Motor Show...

I disagree with you. In fact allot of magazines are saying Camary's interior quality is not as good as it used to be and the Altima and Accord got it beat. The G35's old interior is not as good as the Current TL. The new G35 has it beat by a mile.

The Corolla's interior is atrocious. The entire dash was made of cheap plastic, fit and finish was subpar, there were several rattles, and the engine sounded like the pistons were made of empty soda cans. I'm sure the new one will be a lot better, but the current one is just horrible, more poorly made than the last.

The Sentra, though it was a quite a bit away from what I'd consider good, used better materials and even though it had a sloppy suspension, the chassis itself was balanced like no other fwd I've ever driven.

The Civic, imho, has always remained pretty consistent in their quality of materials, though in the current one, due to what I perceive to be a complexity of design inside, appears to have some fit and finish inconsistencies (i.e. meeting point at the A pillar and dash).

I agree with montyz8. The New G's are high quality wise. The Tl is as well.

Now I do think the Altima lacks quality. I think if that was improved and it was brought up to par with the Accord and Camry, it would sell like the Camry and Accord. The altima also feels flemsy

The Altima has a spice that is needed in that segment yet I still put it one level below an accord and camry.

However, I would rather have the altima over both the camry and accord because they are super boring and the accord is hideous.

My friend has a G35x and it is top notch as far as the interior goes. The only thing I see wrond is that there seem to be some shared parts with other Nissans. For example, the seat heater button is the same one in the Altima.

As far as midsized sedans go, Toyota no longer holds the lead. They have cut costs tremendously in their cars. The Altima is another vitctim of cost cutting. The Accord still regins supreme when it comes to the midsize market.
