Roush gives the Ford Shelby GT500 605hp

You know, that's why I never understood when car makers give model names according to HP. It's too easy to tweak and then what? Same with the VW GTI-W12 650.

Why not go with something like engine size? Most tuners aren't going to drop a whole new engine in (I know, some do), but at least then it'd be a bit more accurate.

$1500 gets the gt500 100+hp. Must be a very fun car!

Also, the GT500 wasnt named that due to its HP output when the name was origonally created back in the 60s.

The "500" in "GT500" was just a random number. It stood for the amount of steps from Shelby's office to the factory floor I believe.

I looked up the term "hoosiers" as I thought it was an ancient term (I was correct, I guess the last time you used it was circa 1950?) meaning "a big, burly, uncouth specimen or individual; a frontiersman, countryman, rustic," And your right. A mustang is a car you manhandle to do what you want it to do, unlike the quiet sophisication every metrosexual is after these days. Mustangs are about tire roasting fun, and if your not into that type of thing, by all means. But describing the experience as "yuck" clearly defines you as the, erm, "sophisticated" type :P

I think if you substitute sophisticated with affluent, and hoosier with broke your little rant might make some sense.

I think the roush mustang released a yr ago (I think) with the 405hp was better.

605 hp is a car that still has a live rear axle? Hilarious. I hope Roush changed the suspension!
