Man loses Ferrari CS and Porsche GT3 RS in California wildfire

Even if you don’t read or take interest in other news than just cars, you may have heard of the devastating wildfires that have raged across Southern California. The five days of wildfires have burned up 497,963 acres, about 778 square miles.

We have been hearing many heartfelt stories of individuals and families losing their homes and belongings in the tragedy. One individual, known as ‘Bill S’ on the FerrariChat forum has put up a picture of his Ferrari CS and Porsche GT3 RS which were burned to the ground...

It's so outrageous that I want a drakonian law to discourage arsonists from contributing to the problem. Any arsonist caught deserves the nemesis of being burned at the stake.

No one was suggesting that human lives are worthless. However, the article revolves, as does this website around cars. Therefore the article is about cars. Hell, we can turn on the news everyday and hear about how someone in the world has died throuhg either the power of nature, or some gun toiting idiot.

Damn...the only thing left of the Ferrari was the muffler! If he didn't have the muffler imagine this guy trying to prove it to the insurance company that the entire car just evaporated !

I live in Irvine right where the fire started by arson last sunday night and we still have smoke and can't open the windows and I keep coughing :(

But, I watched a guy on the news talk about how he had just finished restoring a '59 T-Bird two weeks ago and he couldn't get the car out and it burned up in Modjeska Canyon :(

Poor guy. Just glad he's all right.
I currently live in Foothill Ranch in Irvine, CA where the fire nearly destroyed my house.
But because of the brave California firefighters, I'm fine. Thanks!

I just saw a guy from the Modjeska Canyon area on the news standing next to his home and Lexus LS430, all were burnt beyond recognition.

The Ferrari is aluminum, the Porsche is steel. Aluminum has a lower melting point than steel does, low enough to melt into a pool of aluminum in this fire!
