Breaking: Ferrari's latest supercar revealed

The ultra-exclusive Ferrari FXX isn’t just any new model but is in fact a development test-bed for new technologies that will eventually filter across to Ferraro’s future road cars. The new Evolution Package is the latest version of the FXX prototype and represents the culmination of all the test data and input provided by Michael Schumacher and FXX client test drivers. With the introduction of the Evolution Package Ferrari will be extending the FXX testing program for another two years.

Title is a bit optimistic. The car though will hopefully apply those new technologies across the Ferrari range sooner rather than later.

Apparently this one can rev to 9,500rpm, 1,000rpm more than the first FXX. Plus the brakes last twice as long on the tract and gearshifts only take 60ms..

Amazing.. this car is new enough for me.

So how far does this put the Enzo replacement now? Looks like another two years at least.

This is why Ferrari will always be in a class shared by few if any! They build cars for "drivers". These cars are rwd cars that require skill, attention, and confidence to drive. It's not like any tourist with a camera can jump in and and drive a car like this at 200 MPH and then feel like a star afterwards, becuase if anyone can do it then there isn't really anything special about the man or the machine!

It's more prototype than anything. The first FFX applied a lot of different ideas onto the 430 Scud, namely aerodynamic studies.
