Ford CEO: Ford to dramatically simplify lineup

I'm all for the new approach but I want to be sure that love-it-or-hate-it items like sun roofs and NAV systems are always stand-alone options and not packaged with a bunch of more desirable items to blackmail customers into buying the stuff they hate. I hate blackmail marketing.

While Ford is revamping its lineup, I wish they would fix the Lincoln MKX by making it a RWD vehicle with DOHC V8, LSD, and AWD options like the Cadillac SRX. The Lincoln MKX is a joy to drive but does not deserve the Lincoln brand name as long as it is derived from the FWD Ford Edge. My wife and I test drove one about a week ago and found the seat cushions slightly too short and slightly too firm. Also, my wife could not judge the front of the vehicle because of the way the hood slopes away from the driver's viewing angle. I note however, that, contrary to my experience with the Buick Enclave, I did not bang my head on the roof getting into the front passenger seat. On balance, the MKX is well worth the extra money over the ford Edge but Lincoln could do so much better. The MKX makes owning a vehicle like the Town Car or Grand Marquis totally obsolete so the latter two should be dropped in favor of an improved MKX.
