2007 SEMA SHOW: Cadillac CTS Sport Concept

As the new 2008 Cadillac CTS sedan garners critical acclaim, the CTS Sport concept puts a unique twist on this hot new luxury sedan. The CTS Sport concept suggests a customization theme emphasizing the car's performance character. The show car includes new front and rear fascias, a modified hood, rear spoiler and 20-inch wheels Recaro sport seats highlight the cabin. Performance is derived from a production-spec 304-hp 3.6L Direct Injection V-6 that exhales through a Corsa cat-back exhaust system with 3.5-inch outlets.

Why don't they just leave this already good looking car alone? The hood and exhausts of this makeover look especially atrocious.
Sure, the Ricaro seats and other mechanical improvements are welcome, but the rest just cheapens an already good design.

There are Ricaro seats and there are Ricaro seats -- I'd like to see a picture of the interior. If GM selected seats with huge side bolsters that interfere with getting in and out of the car, then I'm against it. My wife complained, during a recent test drive, that the standard seat backs of the CTS are too firm.

I like the grille shown in this article better than the standard grille but I worry about the front bumper getting too low, risking major damage every time this special CTS is parked nose first against a curb or parking space divider.

Too bad they didn't squeeze any more power out of that engine for this (They did for the lesser Escalade)
