VIDEO: See the Lexus IS-F premium audio system in action
Coming as an option for the 2008 Lexus IS-F will be a premium audio system from Mark Levinson. This $1500-$1800 package includes a full 7.1 surround sound system with 14 speakers which can decode DTS and Dolby digital programming.

The Spies spoke with Mark Levinson spokeperson Trevor Neumann, who showcased some of the features of this audio system.

Getting over the "in park" feature is simple. I have movies playing in on our GX470 all of the time on the front navi while driving for the fam to watch. Mark Levinson makes some nice stuff.

I normally wear silk underwear and I wonder if Trevor and Levinson took that fabric into consideration when tweaking the sound system because from my experience with my silk undies will create a 2.1K Hertz bump in the frequency spectrum causing the Lexus to go into self parking mode :o

Do we REALLY need this many posts about the IS-F? Like yes, it's a nice car, but the dvd/audio system doesn't seem that much different than what you see in pretty much every other luxury car. How soon where there be a post, such as "LEXUS IS-F: THE BUTTON TEXT THIS CAR HAS BLOWS AWAY EVERY OTHER CAR IN ITS CLASS!"

Lexus don't even make the sound system. They get them from Mark Levison, basing the fact they're number one through going to another company is pure stupidy. However, I expect this from Lexus fans.

Normally the audio system in a performance car is a completely useless feature but considering how bad this IS-F sounds I guess is a must in this car. Still..spending money on a top of the line audio system in this car instead using them to engineer a car that has brakes that don't catch on fire is probably a mistake. But, is a Lexus...you cannot expect much.
