ok, houston i'll play out your game.

per the mercedes and lexus websites, here's an apples to apples comparison....

base C350 $37,275, base IS350 $35,905

fully optioned C350 $49,393, fully optioned IS350 $46,751

now explain to me again how the C-class is cheaper than the IS.

"too bad itll fall apart in less then a year"

Is not Japanese c**p, so it will not fall apart. German cars are built like tanks.

Your name "KRAUT Master" is offensive to people who are German or are of German ancestry.

And Acura wasn't just flat or anything, oh no. They REALLY stumbled. They need help.

I love the new Mercedes-Benz commercials where they describe the cars' engineering highlights, then end by saying that their engineers go so far because 'we promised you a true Mercedes-Benz.'

I think that's a nice, subtle jab at Lexus, without giving them the honor of actually taking the time to mention their name.

You say Mercedes is boring and you own a Lexus(known for having the most boring ride and for the cheap trash interiors). Wow...the irony...

Jugnu go outside and smack your head on the pavement. The C is a good car it may not be the best but its better than the boring IS. And isnt the center console of the IS made of some cheap silver plastic?

The IS looks like a Kia inside but Lexus fans worry about the high class interior in the Mercedes. They are surely a weird bunch...

^As if BMW's interiors are more upscale than Lexus interiors? No. There's a difference between "cheap" plastic and Lexus plastic. Yes, either way it's plastic, but even the new Benzes use plastic as well.

The creation of the 7-Series begs to differ. Their cars are more sport-oriented, but they knew they couldn't sell their cars for premium prices without putting some luxury, or a perceived notion of such, into their products. There's more black plastic in the 7-Series than necessary for any car dubbed "luxury," which BMW themselves does consider a "luxury" car. The S-Class, A8, and yes, the LS, do better jobs, with the S-Class and A8 apparently just as up to the task of sporty driving as the 7-Series.

Will - may I remind you that the 7 series is rather old right now? The next one may be rather more luxurious.

Lol. You're a little late to the party if you didn't know that I am Mr. Know-it-all. I am not arguing with you, I was simply disagreeing with your implied notion that BMW has interiors more luxurious than a Lexus. What's peculiar about you is that you seem to want to force down people's throats that you drive a Nissan 350Z. You think because you drive a Japanese car, that makes your comments on other brands more valid than anyone else's? I've sat in a 760Li WITH the special "Individual Composition" package. Not as impressive as the A8's interior, S-Class's interior, OR the LS's interior either. But of course I'm not allowed to say this because I don't drive the magic Nissan 350Z that you do...

"As if BMW's interiors are more upscale than Lexus interiors? No."

Well, there's a fine line there. Lexus's interiors certainly have more design flair. They look the part. Very easy to use, also. But BMW interiors have top-notch materials, contrary to what some say on the site. The best examples of this are the 5 Series, 6 Series and X5. Their plastics are superior to what Lexus uses, as well as Mercedes; they're just not quite up to Audi standards.

Oh and... the A8 and S-Class do handle as well as the 7 Series. Consider the average luxury sedan buyer. You think they'll notice any difference? I think not.

So I checked out the new C-Class at my dealer last week. I loved the car overall, a bit small on the inside (but much roomier than some main competitors) but overall, a fine car. I scheduled a testdrive for December 5th, a C300, can't wait.

About the interior, it looks fine to me. The quality and build quality impression simply blow the last generation C-Class out of the water. In fact, the interior felt premium to me, and certainly looked like it came from a premium car. I had no complaints.

I just wish they'd start selling the C220 Bluetec here sooner!

Are you testing it for fun or for actual interest in purchase?

I love the way the new C looks, maybe the Luxury version more than the Sport. I saw a black C300 Luxury yesterday, and it was just so classy, without really trying to be.
