Reliability aside, the current ML is a bit of a classic design. It's the kind of design that even people who don't know anything about cars would recognise as that 'Mercedes SUV'.

With that in mind, it seems logical that M-B builds on the current cars image, but in the process dealing to those niggling faults and overall modernising the design. It may be no giant leap foward in terms of design, but it's evolution rather than revolution.

Coupled with a well-built and stylish interior, and impeccable road manners, this ML will prove to be a hit.

Geddy, am I to believe, that, from your assumption, Kia has come along way in the auto industry based purely on the fact they were heavily influenced by the design of the ML when they penned the Sorrento? Is following better than leading?

On another note, those referring to the Sorrento when talking about the new ML are mis-informed. Yes we have heard that the Sorrento is a flattering image of the current ML, and that the new ML is merely an evolution of the previous shape, so both the KIA and the Mercedes-Benz will have similarities.

I must also add, that, when the Sorrento was unveiled to the yawning public, Mercedes-Benz would have already been well underway into the development of the ML you see here. Of course, the ML will trump the Sorrento in terms of dynamics, safety, comfort, engineering and design, but to a few simple-minded beings, this will make no difference, that it is still an over-priced Korean SUV, no matter what people say.

I have found that to be the mentality of many here.
