2007 SEMA Show: Lincoln Navigator L by DeBerti

Besides the Cadillac Escalade, the Lincoln Navigator is probably one of the most modified SUVs by tuners. This Lincoln Navigator L by DeBerti Designs shown at the 2007 SEMA Show, was created for those ‘who expect more out life.’

Performance wise DeBerti pretty much left the Lincoln Navigator L stock with its 5.4 liter V8 engine. What DeBerti did add was a Borla exhaust, and Air Ride suspension and DJM control arms. Exterior modifications to the body include a 3dCarbon wing, PPG paint job and Street Glow under lighting.

But it’s the inside where this Lincoln Navigator L stands out. For the rear passengers or ‘executives,’ DeBerti added fully reclining rear seats with head-to-toe massaging. Passengers can also surf the internet, watch satellite TV or play Halo 3 from anywhere in the world on their 2 gigantic flat-screen TVs and a center touch-screen console that controls everything.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who finds virtually every vehicle featured from SEMA to be an exercise in EXTREMELY BAD TASTE!

I know this isn't too related but I just got back from MPH 07 in London and after sitting in a Cadillac Escalade I wonder how in hell they sell any.
Apart from being ridiculously huge, the interior was awful and indeed shared many parts with the Vauxhall VXR8 next to it...the roof and door pillar lining was made of the cheapest, scratchiest material, and the back of the dashboard was a hard plastic the same as in the Vauxhall, and "aluminium" was the worst imitation aluminium I have ever seen.
When I then sat in a Range Rover the difference in quality was even more pronnounced, as that used soft leather and good imitation leather everywhere, and had a nice soft roof lining...was so much better than the awful Caddy.

In addition the Jag X-F looks like a Lexus crossed with a Ford Mondeo, and the interior, while nice, is nothing outstanding.

I am glad you got to see it for yourself.
There are a lot of Very Ignorant people on this site that make do with the Rubbish that is peddaled to them by the NA AutoManufacturers.

They will tell you it is an improvement on the Previous Model {Which just illustrates how horrible the previous model was}

They will tell you it is cheaper than the Range//X5//Q7 {But it costs more than the LR3 and has much lower quality Materials}

I can sum up the NA attitude to Vehicles: QUANTITY INSTEAD OF QUALITY.

I happen to have spoken only FACTS, yet you have taken offence.

I do only buy vehicles made outside of the USA hence my reluctance to Purchase the New X5

When you find ONE VEHICLE designed & manufactured in the USA by any of the 2/3 NA manufacturers that just Oozes Quality and good taste then post the results on this site and i will admit to being wrong.

Stating the truth does not equate to America Bashing.

Inward Looking, Critique Hating people like yourself is the reason the US manufacturers keep peddaling junk to its citizens while Producing and Selling much bettter quality Vehicles Overseas.

When you find a reason why Ford & GM sell much better quality Vehicles abroad yet keep making Junk for their home markets please tell me.

My call ? They have found out that they can sell the junk at home so they do.

Why am I not allowed to say how terrible the Escalade is? The sales woman knew it, after we got out she asked "Too big, or too American?". We replied "Too American". She had clearly heard that a lot.
It shows that if Cadillac want to make any headway in Europe they need better interiors, and when their flagship car shares parts with a bargain basement Vauxhall (and not even good parts) and has a roof lining made from potato sacks...why bother going to the trouble of importing any at all?

And the Escalade isn't even cheap! New it's 46000 pounds at least!!!! More than an LR3, X5 or Q7!

And daharder, don't you feel ripped off that GM makes good cars in Europe? Don't you feel ripped off that the SRXI sat in actually had better materials than the American version, to cater to European tastes? GM just sells rubbish in the US, and keeps the good stuff for the rest of the world.

No it wasn't there...I was slightly more impressed with the SRX though (mainly because the steering wheel is on the correct side, and its lower price can justify the cheaper materials)

After the Cadillacs (And Hummers! UGH I felt dirty. Plastic chrome rings everywhere, on everything) I felt a need for repentance so I sat in a Bentley Azure and then a Ferrari 599 for a while to cleanse my soul of hard black plastic and fake wood. I felt better afterwards.
The 599 was very comfortable I must say.

It was kind of expensive...but I think worth it just for the huge variety of cars there - where else will I see a new Azure next to a Blower 3.5 litre and original Continental? Or loads of companies selling their wares, like huge wheels and the like (which made a Porsche Cayenne look very stupid)
The show (the on stage bit) was also very good, the car football was very funny.
