You have to keep in mind that Ethanol has about 33% less energy than gas per kg.

So, engineers might have problems to come up with those power numbers without using any forms of supercharging.

Sure, give Germans a 8.2l and they can make more. But at what cost? Thats the whole point of the Corvette, supercar status at a reasonable price. Anything european with 600hp is 100k+ easily...
Also, what N/A v8 makes over 600hp from Europe? (it might exist, I just cant think of one lol)
