I doubt it. Clearly the sketches depict the US-Spec A6, shown by the narrow number-plate frame on the bootlid. I don't think Audi's designers in Germany would have used the US-Japan size frame on their initial sketches.
This is obviously a improvised sketch for the A6 Launch in the US, and not an 'actual' A6 development sketch. Besides, the sketches show the finished model, and usually a car design 'comes to be' with hundreds of concept drawings before a few are chosen and refined.
On another note, couldn't many of the topics on this weeks newsletter be combined into one? ie: New Mercedes M-class. We don't need three links with one picture per page, when they could be combined.
