Spy Video: Mercedes SL AMG Black Series hits Nurburgring

You’re probably thinking “Hey wait a second! The video says Mercedes-Benz SLC in the beginning.” Unfortunately it’s not. Sources say that the Mercedes-Benz hasn’t hit the Nurburgring for high-speed testing as of yet. The car is still in its early stages of development and it’ll be sometime before we see it hitting the Nurburgring.

So what’s up with this hot Mercedes-Benz SL AMG Black Series? Power is said to come from a V12 bi-turbo. A 6.2 liter V8 is also said to be a possibility. The car will join the SLK 55 AMG and the CLK 63 AMG in Mercedes Black Series lineup.

We don’t expect to see the car until the 2009 Mercedes SL 63 AMG model arrives with a new facelift.

I would be curious to see if one could get access to each cars official time around the nordshleife.(excuse my spelling).Car makers that are premoting models that scream supercar performance need to start posting their times. I mean if you call your model that you make a supercar then you need to be under 8 minutes. Otherwise your blowing a lot of smoke.
