Toyota reports record revenues and income for third quarter

Well, the dollar hasn't dropped compared to the yen, so this is in technically favor of the weak yen in the US market, especailly compared to European produced autos. The weak dollar and yen will definately help US automakers as well as Japanese automakers in China, as well as other strong makrets.

i don't know what Toyota has done to you MidEngine but all this bashing really is just baffling. they make record profits and still find some way to try and weasel it, saying it is somehow surreal.

dont blame them for capturing the market when its viable...they did so with strategics. it didnt happen overnite and they didnt bully their way thru.

american vehicles have long been sub-standard compared to what the japs/euro vehicles offered for the same, sometimes lesser, price. they recently have decided to produce something descent but still are behind.

so don't blame others...toyota has been gaining every year for how long now? did the big3 not take notice, mimic their strategics, and try to appeal to the crowd that toyota has been? is it toyota's fault they established a brand that most adhere and are satisfied with and can expect returning customers based on their satisfactions?

the big3 only have themselves to blame...Ford thinks making 30 different variations to the mustang will pull them out, or gm thinking 3 variations of the same pickup gives consumer a choice. then there is the UAW and their controlling the big3.

Toyota growth is larger then BMW and Lexus is Toyotas #1 growth. Technology of IS350 has large power over c class MB. Lexus is always the car for men and its future to come remaining #1 in world.

Mid engine you mean well you want America #1 no problem, but we are the ultimate capitailst country, if you can play a better game fine, if the public likes your product fine, and if the other countries close shop on our porducts fine, because mid enging i can assure if the world wanted the Big Three cars they would have them the problem very few in the world think the American car is the cat's meaow they just don't take to them.

gm does sell a lot of cars in china. (they'll buy ANYTHING!)

on the other hand, forget japan. forget korea. how many gm cars do you see in OTHER countries outside the western hemisphere?
detroit truly makes mostly cars suitable for america, but almost NOWHERE on the rest of the planet!

as further proof, look how well japanese cars sell in europe, africa, south asia. you don't even have to travel to see this. evidence is in your evening news, movies, documentaries, etc.

therefore, the "japan is a closed market" to other countries' cars is a false argument. they actually do buy a lot of german luxury cars. it just so happens they turn their noses up at DETROIT offerings.

comparing vehicles on the streets of ALL countries, it becomes obvious that toyota does a FAR BETTER JOB building cars that people LIKE, than does detroit.

toyota EARNED and DESERVES the profits they now make. whether or not the yen is "manipulated" would have only a neglible effect in the big picture.

that's because they are still pissed at us for kicking the shit out of them @ WWII, those feelings get passed down from generation to generation
