GM planning small 7-seater Chevrolet minivan for 2009

GM is planning on a small 7-seater minivan for the Chevrolet brand in 2009. According to UAW’s summary of labor contract with GM, a seven-seater vehicle is in the works for the company’s Hamtrack, Michigan plant.

I wish GM far more success than they ever had with their full-sized mini-van entries...

Of course they could hardly be any less successful than those.

Apparently the mini in minivan doesn't count, as somehow a Voyager is a minivan, yet it's huge.
We don't call them that in Europe though, we usually say MPV (multi-passenger/purpose vehicle).
The Zafira's a good car though, but perhaps Toyota will introduce the Corolla Verso into the fray?

I doubt it. The Corolla Verso and Zafira don't really compete; isn't it more like the Avensis Verso (if there is one)? Anyway, we already have the Matrix.

No it's the Corolla Verso that competes withe Zafira.
Both are based off the same size car and cost roughly the same, the Avensis Verso was larger (don't make it anymore) and more expensive.

The Chevy Astro was actually a great size and perfect for a lot of commercial uses, too. But GM shamelessly sold them for something like 15 years without so much as updating the floor mats. It sold despite this, although at the end they cancelled it citing low sales...duh!
