Toyota Supra HR-V Hybrid Wins Race Engine of the Year 2007 Award
The Toyota Supra HV-R hybrid car which was the first hybrid race car ever to win a competition (the Tokachi 24-Hour Race, on 14-15th July), has won the award for Race Engine of The Year 2007.

The nominations were selected by the editors of Race Engine Technology magazine and the awards were determined through votes cast by practicing race engine professionals across all forms of global motor sport. The four categories include: Grand Prix; Global Motorsport; North American Race Engine and Alternative Power Race Engine, with one winner for the overall title of Race Engine of the Year.

Sponsored by the PMI Group and its member companies JE Pistons, Carillo and Wiseco, the awards were presented on Thursday 8 November at the Professional Motorsport World Expo in Cologne Germany.

there were a few porsches and bmws in the field. the hybrid supra RAN AWAY FROM ALL OF 'EM and won the race!

I had a Supra Turbo in 1993 (it was a Supra '88 Turbo). Loved that car. It was ths shit. Then I fell asleep at the wheel and drove it off the freeway with cruise control and rolled it 6 times. Ouch. I was bummed when they discontinued the new one. Now I drive a M3, but

I'd love to see Toyota make a supercar again, because that was how good the last Supra was.
