Wealth TV Viewers Choose The Top Six Cars for The Enthusiast

Having difficulty determining what to get that car enthusiast in your life this holiday season? WealthTV and its viewers are ready to help. WealthTV conducted viewer online polling to determine the finest automobiles for 2008. Only six automobiles have earned the top honors in the hearts and minds of WealthTV's viewers and are receiving the crystal WealthTV Viewer's Choice Award. This top honor award, which more accurately reflex's the passions of loyal automotive enthusiasts, is deemed the top honors in the luxury car market. The six recognized categories and the winners of WealthTV Viewer's Choice Award are:

Most Exciting New Release of 2008 - Audi R8
Most Luxurious SUV of 2008 - Lexus LX 570
Most Luxurious Sedan of 2008 - Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG
Hottest Sports Car under $50k of 2008 - Chevrolet Corvette
Hottest Sports Car no Price Limit of 2008 - Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
Most Advanced use of Hybrid Technology of 2008 - Honda FCX

the MB s-class should be replaced by the rolls royce, the r8 is deserving, so is the vette. the MB SLR is a maybe, as i would probably choose a ferrari for both its sports and luxury.

the LX and the FCX havent even hit the pavements yet. so i dont see them being rated yet. the LX can be, it is very luxurious from the specs/pix, and adapting from the LS's interior should be expected.

weird list i say.

What you dont understand is that the LX has more features than any SUV on the market. While the no-brainer choice is the RR Supercharged, I dont even think it has cooled seats (available on entry level luxury nowadays).

out in the bush where TRUE ruggedness and durability command premiums, the Land Cruiser is preferred over even the Range Rover.

being the Lexus version of the legendary Land Cruiser, it is simply a NO BRAINER to have the LX on the list. more so now that it has the amazing tundra 5.7 motor.

exciting new release -- it would be the new m3 or even the c63 before the 135i. but the R8 is definitely the most exciting vehicle out, well maybe that and the new GTR.

lux suv -- ml63 amg, lacks in luxury compare to a Lexus. if this was a sports-SUV, you may have a point...but its luxury.

lux sedan -- again if it went by luxury, and even performance in this class...it would be the RR or even the bentley. the maserati is a nice fit as well. inside that vehicle is a dream.

sports car under 50k -- its an M car so it's a must? the corvette is the best bang for the buck for a sports car under $50k. the bias is killing you!

no lmiit sports car -- ferrari is the ultimate choice, even a lambo would suffice. then there is the Aston Martin...with its looks and power, i don't know how you can say no.

hybrid tech -- honda has it on hold rite now with the fcx, once it can avg that 60+ mpg...no other will do. besides why would you want a hybrid s-class and a s63 as your choices? you'd get fed up with the lack of pwr when in the diesel from the amg.

new exciting -- there's nothing to exciting about the 135i IMO. the R8/GTR offer the most excitement. hell, i'd even take the new EVO MR due to its 4wd and overall "exciting" driving capabilities.

lux suv -- it has to be the LX570. the GL doesnt offer enough to be luxurious, it may lead in performance...but this isnt a performance SUV contest. if it were the GL and even the Cayenne turbo/RangeRover Sport has a chance.

lux sedan -- again, the s65 falls short in the luxury aspect, this isnt a performance choice. the RR and Bentley offer ample amount of performance while providing much more luxury to the s63. maybe Maybach, but i rather have a more distinct lux sedan like the RR.

s/c under 50k -- i take it you havent been in the vette to experience its capabilities. the impression of that v8 that is left behind wiht you is really second to none. the Z4 has no grounds, especially since you cant deliver one with an M package for under $55k.

supercar n/l -- ferrari, indeed...but this is a tie between many makes. Carrera GT, LP640, Scuderia...i would choose all those before even looking at the SLR.

hybrid -- yes tq is something nice, but when that tq can beat the FCX's 60+ mpg, then i'd consider. until then...FCX ftw!

anyway i agree with all, but not sure about most luxurious Sedan.

LS600h should be there instead of S63. S63 is more towards performance (0-60 that is)

LS600h is ultra luxury with the latest technology.An interior which is close to Maybach's.

Actually the Q7 only shares about 15% of parts with the Touareg - the similarity between the LC and the LX is much deeper.

The LX is simply a re-badged Land Cruiser with a different dash.

R8 - agree with.
LX - disagree. Range Rover all the way
S63 - disagree - Bentley Arnage.
Corvette - not sure...Z4M perhaps but the Corvette is a fine choice
M-B SLR - disagree. Lambo Reventon or just a Murcielago.
Is the FCX a hybrid?? If not the S400 bluetec hybrid.

I would never have a Reventon, far too overpriced, but the budget is apparently unlimited in this category.

Actually ignore the Reventon, make my answer a Pagani Zonda.

Range Rover a has been? I honestly don't think an LX is more luxurious...

The Range Rover is still the most desirable SUV on the market, bleek. It oozes exclusivity, even if you see them everywhere. It looks EXPENSIVE. It looks LUXURIOUS. It looks beautiful. I don't say that about many SUVs.
