Toyota Engineers Build World’s Biggest “Playstation”
Toyota has unveiled a massive driving simulator, designed to safely analyse driving characteristics and so develop improved active safety technology. The driving simulator, located at Toyota’s Higashifuji Technical Centre in Japan, provides one of the world’s most-realistic simulated driving environments, allowing driving habits and reactions to be accurately gauged. Key to this virtual reality is the use of a real car placed on a platform housed inside a 7.1-metre-diameter dome, the inside of which serves as a giant 360-degree video screen.

Put a Lexus badge on it and it's instant "reliability and quality." Just add water!

huu:

just a bmw badge, a multi-link suspension, a high output engine, decent brakes, a connection with the road....and the toy/lexus might have a chance.

There are some really stupid people here that make no sense. I don't understand why people have to bash every company that they're not the fan of and "So-Called" fanboys-wannabe. This technology is for RESEARCH morons. It will help reduce the time and cost for doing real-time research. This is exactly what they do in NASA and the Air Force.... So, before bashing on some new technology and not knowing crap about it, don't bash it and take your heads out of some company's ass and smell the fresh air.

Connected to the road feeling, people don't always want that, I have a 530i SMG and a CX-7 and it gets annoying most of the time. I know, I live in NYC.
