GMC Terrain unveiled: GMC’s first compact SUV revealed in Kuwait
GM today unveiled GMC’s first ever compact SUV at the Kuwait International Auto Show called the GMC Terrain. The GMC Terrain is basically the Saturn Vue with a GMC badge on it and will go on sale in the Middle East market this year.

No word on whether GM will bring the GMC Terrain to the U.S., but we wouldn’t be surprised since we already have the GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook, which are practically the same car.

The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse will also...

Wow! A Badged Engineered Saturn VUE...

The development cost must have been in the HUNDREDS!

Well GMC versions have typically used better components, and I will say that the Terrain looks a lot better in the front then the VUE.

I think there'd be a niche for them here. Along the lines of the Arcadia and such.

They'll need to offer more differentiation than just a new grill and tail lamps to really pull it off in the U.S. IMO.

SATURN is just getting a firmhold in the market, so I can't see how offering this in the U.S. (if they choose) would be a very smart move.

They're not going to offer it in the US. It just wouldn't make sense.

This is just as bad as the "Pontiac G5." You can actually see on that car that the grille isn't built in--it's just a metal sheet with the two holes in it that goes over where the Cobalt grille should be. That must have cost them about $25. Serves them right that it doesn't sell.

@S4cabriofoxone

Hate to say it, but that 'metal' peice on teh G5 is actually plastic.. went by my pontiac dealer to look at some GTO's, and found that.... thing... and poked at it. plastic... (No surprise there)

We have a GMC Acadia. After test driving many different SUV’s it came down to the GMC, Lexus and a couple of others including the Saturn Outlook. Comparing the Saturn Outlook with the GMC Acadia we could feel and see noticeable differences between both of them and the GMC was nicer overall with better fit and finish, better handling and quieter. I think GMC builds in those noticeable difference to make there trucks solid. We are very happy with the Acadia. I don’t think GMC should bring the Terrain here but if they did I am most certain they would have the same attention to detail as the other GMC’s get.

Saw a GMC Terrain on US 23 near Detroit today. Nice looking vehicle except for the oversized fender flare treatment.
