Photo Leak: Kia Borrego shows up before Detriot Show
Pictures of the upcoming Kia Borrego have been leaked on the internet. The new 7-passenger Kia SUV is set for debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January, but you can have your first close-up look today.

The 7-seater Kia Borrego will be made in Korea and will go on sale in North America in late spring or early summer of 2008 as a 2009 model.

I like KIA's conservative styling and I believe Hyundai/KIA will beat the crap out of Toyota/Lexus in the long run. Hyundai and KIA cars are a good value in Canada since most other auto makers rip us off with an even higher discrepancy between U.S. and Canadain prices. I'm hoping that current trade talks with the Koreans will result in the elimination of the 6.1% duty now in effect on these cars in Canada which would further reduce the price and put immense pressure on other auto makers to bring their Canadian prices considerably closer to U.S. prices.

As much as the headlamps are straight off a Lexus, the taillamps are some combination of Ford Europe (Mondeo) and Ford US ('06 Freestyle), and the interior is a Touareg knockoff...

I've got to admit it looks very good. Probably better than the Highlander.
