Land Rover and Range Rover to unify design language

As Ford tries to sell Land Rover, adding any new products to the lineup has been on hold. The only upcoming car we’ve been hearing about from Land Rover is the Land Rover Landie Crossover, a low-priced crossover that will fit below the Freelander.

This is really lame. Anyone who thinks the Range Rover is a separate brand is a moron. I hear this all the time. Old news too, over a year ago LR planned to title each vehile Range Range (sport, coupe, country, etc.) and keep Land Rover as an umbrella label.

I agree with M35 and the aformentioned retardedness. I used to own a Range Rover and when people would ask me what I drive I would say Land Rover to generalize more and sound less pretentious. If other people in the room heard they would then correct me by telling me that I did not own a Land Rover. I can't tell you how many times I had to show the key to convince them it was a Range Rover.

What did Gerry McGovern ever accomplish during his tenure as head of Lincoln Design to warrant a move to Land Rover? Granted, some of the his concepts, MK9 and Continental, were quite nice, but the actual production designs have left much to be desired.
