Is the new Boxster a winner or a loser?

We'd love to hear your thoughts about the new Boxster...

Is it another homerun for Porsche?

Is it what you expected?

Will it sell well?

Do you like the design?

Is it too little, too late?

I'll take the Merc SLK please - leave the Boxster to folks who like rags.

Still one of the best cars you can buy but the front
end is ugly. Too much like the 996. Just when they
moved the 911 away from the boxster, they change the
boxster to look like the 911.

I like the new front and rear clips except fot the headlights. The old ones were fine. The interior also looks great and I'm happy to hear they improved the sound system and upped the HP. The rest of the car is a disappointment, especially the side air intakes. They had a great design with the original show car back in the early 90's. They should have more faithfuly followed that design. I had an "S" for a few years and loved it. Porsche needs to stop raping their customers on the price of options, service and repairs.

THE CAR IS BEAUTIFUL ALWAYS WAS, BUT PLEASE GOD TELL WHOEVER.. WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE ENGINE .. I MEAN WHATS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY CAR??? THE ENGINE!!! FIRST THING YOU SHOW THE GUYS AT THE DRIVE IN .... THE ENGINE..WHY DO THEY INSIST (MMM)=MAKE MORE MONEY)ON KEEPING THE ENGINE LOCKED UNDER WRAPS!! PUT A PANEL IN THERE AND LET US TOUCH IT AND PLAY AROUND WITH IT .. WE WILL STILL TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE!!!

TO SANGEEVE: I DROVE THE SLK .. ITS STILL A GIRLS CAR!!! (EXCEPT THE 55)

You don't need big horsepower when you don't lug around a lot of weight. The fact remains, the Boxster is still the best handling, dynamically brilliant roadster on the market.

Of course, in America handling doesn't sell cars.
7 Litre V8s with crap interiors sell well over there, right?

If 280 BHP in a nimble sports car is underpowered to you, I suggest you drive one on a windy road. Then you'll understand on-paper figures don't tell the whole story.
