AUTO SPIES EXCLUSIVE-Official intro date set for the unveiling of the next 7-series?

Sources tell the Spies that BMW will announce the updated 7-series (750) at the L.A. Auto show.

Why not Detroit?

It will be there as well, seeing Detroit is only a week later.

It's a good move on their part because the largest customer base for the car is in California.

Why not kill two birds with one stone?

Show it to both audiences.

We can't wait to see it.

It is incredible to me the level of writing and spelling skills of some posters to this forum. If you people are successful enough to drive a 7 series, one would assume a certain level of education necessary to do so. I'd call it abyssmal, but I'm not sure that would be understood.

Thank you for your last seven. I looked you up. What are you crying about?! Only two visits since you took delivery in July '04. Nothing serious, I see. Maybe your attitude caused you all the problems at Valencia BMW. I also see that BMW endowed you with a 6 year/100,000 New Car Limited Warranty. Did you say "Thank You" or did you bitch about that too. Maybe you should take your 745Li to a dealer that doesn't know what an ass you are, and just keep your mouth shut.

BMW has been under a pattern of 6-7 year model cycles. That is major sheet metal/styling differences. But they have always tweaked headlights, tailights, features, etc. along the way. You speak of this seven series change as if they have thrown in the towel on the new styling direction; this is merely the customary mid run alteration and nothing more. We will see the all-new 7 in 2008-09 and not before. By the way the 7 has been and continues to be one of the best large sedans on the road. It looked dynamic when it was released, needs to until 08-09, and will be just right when it is changed then. We have alot more to look forward too from BMW as well.

Opinions in Europe are also divided when it comes to the 7 series. I am young, I am a person that likes to stand out in a crowd, but i would certainly not choose a 7 series. I'd rather choose a Maserati Quattroporte instead. Sales for the 7 series have plummeted since the arrival of the Audi A8 and the Maserati Q. I agree with everybody that technically speaking it is a great car, but i don't like the looks of it. As for the facelift, i hear that changes are going to be major.

Love BMW, but i can't love the 7 and the weird X3. I like the old 5 series better than the new one.
