SPY PHOTOS: BMW Crosses an R-Class with an X6 to get a V5! STUD or DUD?
Here are the best pics yet of the upcoming whatever vehicle from BMW INCLUDING the first good interior shot.

And the Spies have it first!

Is this new V5 or whatever they end up calling it destined to be a winner or will it meet the same marketplace fate the R-Class is experiencing?

Sources tell the Spies this could be the concept BMW shows at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show.

too hard to tell anything from these shots...other than that it's some sort of crossover.

The V5 will be a Stud just like all the rest of the BMW lineup!

Why does BMW feel they have to be in ALL market segments?
Now it's a Minivan - my world is coming to an end!

To make money.

Why create competition to the R-Class, the answer to a question nobody asked? A dud...not too sure about this one.

Who can tell? The car in photos has more baggage on it than Britney Spears.

I agree with Sailor! What is the point of this? WHO is going to buy it? Why not get a 5 Series Touring, X5 or X6 instead?

WHY? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THIS, BMW???

STOP IT BMW! YOU ARE RUINING THE BRAND!

Pfffft. Waaa, waa. No, I don't think you actually consider the '09 X6 or '07 X5 are 'ruining the brand'. They are stunning designs, as I fully expect this heavily disguised monster will end up also. I think you are probably just too enamored with your 90's m3.

You obviously don't know where BMW originated from if you think SUV's are good for BMW's image. They were known for their spellbinding sports-sedans, a BMW SUV would be near blasphemy 20 years ago.
More models just means more stretching of their resources and less exclusivity. No matter how stunning a car it might be, wouldn't you hate to see Ferrari build an SUV?

Aye, what a travesty.

Maybe you ought define what is an acceptable ceiling in centimeters beyond which NO BMW ROOFLINE shall exceed; I am sure the teams of designers at BMW working worldwide 9 hours a day trying to pin down what is the correct permutation of automotive performance and functionality will see your declaration and rejoice.

They'll say, why are we making this:

When we should be making this?

Can't tell anything from these pics. From the way it's camouflaged it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing it uncovered for another year at least.
