Video: Inside the Corvette ZR-1 at Laguna Seca
Video of the Corvette ZR-1s run around the Laguna Seca has hit YouTube. Images of the engine of the car hit the web last week confirming a 6.2 liter LS9 V8 unit with superchargers. Output is expected to come in around 650 horsepower.

Also, our main man, Bob Lutz has claimed to have driven the Corvette ZR-1 over 200mph at the Michigan Proving Ground.

The car sounds incredible and has great acceleration. I carefully watched the video to see the level of driver control going into the curves and I felt that it took a lot of skill to keep that car in position .That is the performance level taht I feel needs the most improvement --which has always been my sentiment about Corvettes along with the overall fiberglass scoop and less than desireable interior . I'll also mention the general customer service at a Chevy dealership ought to be upgraded to a car of this caliber and price.

This car seems like a dangerous toy to the average Joe who opts for a bang for the buck street car .

It's nice, but can it run with the new 997 GT2 and GT-R? Even if it could, for that price no one will go for it when they can get a GT2 or F430 Scuderia.

Most people will take the new 600hp Viper or GT-R for 1/3 the price which are just as fast as this ZR-1 if not faster.

First of all the new Viper is barely faster than the Z06. And that is arguable considering the bone stock 10.98@ 128 mph run recently by a bone stock Z06. Also the GT2 and the Z06 are very close in performance, with the GTR being much slower than either.
