Mazda reveals new Furai Concept sports car

Next month will see the unveiling of yet another Mazda design study in the form of the new Furai Concept, destined to debut at the Detroit Auto Show. In addition to the Furai, Mazda will also take the wraps off the facelifted RX-8 four-door sports coupe as well as the recently revealed Mazda Taiki Concept, a preview of the carmaker’s future sports car.

The new Furai is the latest iteration of Mazda’s unique Nagare (Japanese for “flow”) design language, taking it a step further as it is a concept car based on an American Le Mans Series (ALMS) racer. The concept utilizes the Courage C65 chassis the carmaker campaigned in the ALMS series two seasons ago, and is powered by the same 450hp three-rotor rotary engine as the race car.

not really. knowing the mazda/ford group this car will be probably a good/ok performer, have a bad interior, BUT it will be cheaper than the competition.

i dont know about that but..i loved driving the rx7 turbo II. a midengined 3 rotary twin turbo would be great

Evo/Audi, Ford has nothing to do with these projects. And Mazda has the best interiors at their price point. Wake up.

I hope you were drunk when you type the above post??? goodbye GT-R and R8? Yeah right dream. The original Nissan GT-R were the first Supercar to hit the Famous German track under the 8 minutes mark. And now this new Nissan GT-R did in 7:38 second with it base model. GT-R do 0-60 in 3.5s or less.

Please do me and everyone here a Favor do a search on the Nissan GT-R and Audi R8 before you type anymore comment.

you get what you pay for (most of the time). If you have a problem with paying alot for alot of car from Mazda, then your problem is with your identity, not the car.

Actually, Mazda planned to call their upscale division Amati or Amanti and there was talk of calling the Millenia the 828. I thought the first gen. Millenia was a nice car, they kinda lost their way with the 2nd gen. though
