Lexus Releases Pricing on 2008 ES, LS, IS, and RX Models

Lexus announced Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) today for the 2008 ES 350, LS 460, and IS model luxury sedans, and the 2008 RX 400h and 2009 RX 350 luxury utility vehicles.


    The ES 350 entry luxury sedan MSRP will increase 0.3 percent, or $100, to $33,820. The IS entry luxury sport sedans will increase 0.3 percent overall, or $100. The IS 250 rear-wheel drive model with a manual transmission will carry an MSRP of $30,555, while the IS 250 rear-wheel
drive automatic will have an MSRP of $31,725. The IS 250 all-wheel drive and the IS 350 models will have an MSRP of $34,185 and $36,005, respectively. The MSRP for the LS 460 flagship luxury sedan will increase 0.8 percent, or $500, to $62,000 for the LS 460 and $72,000 for the LS 460 L.

    The 2008 RX 400h hybrid luxury utility vehicle MSRP will increase 0.2 percent overall, or $100, to $41,280 for the RX 400h front-wheel drive, and $42,680 for the all-wheel-drive model.

    The 2009 RX 350 luxury utility vehicle MSRP will increase 0.3 percent, or $100. The front-wheel-drive RX 350 will have an MSRP of $37,500, while the RX 350 all-wheel drive will carry a base price of $38,900.

    Mid-year price adjustments on the 2008 models are effective with vehicles arriving in the U.S. beginning December 18, 2007. RX 350 pricing changes are effective on 2009 models arriving at dealerships in early February 2008. MSRP does not include a delivery, processing and handling fee of $765.

The price increase is because they've got to pay for the Newport Lexus dealership.

Heck, I would just go to the Benz, BMW or Audi dealers in Newport and get a real car ;)

Why didnt they mention the price of the SC? Maybe becasuse they would have to pay me to drive one of those hideous looking things! I seriously wish they would bring out the redesign.

How dumb are you? Dealer's are paid by the owner of the dealer which is not Toyota N.A. Dealers are individually owned & operated by franchisee's.

Most of the increases are stupidly miniscule. Is 0.2% or 0.3% really called a price increase??? When you take into account year to year inflation, it's more like the price of the cars actually went DOWN.

I like Lex. My next lease after the 530 expires is a GS 350 and some nice 22's will go on that. But the ES is an overpriced FWD car.

BMW isn't moving downmarket...

They have the 1 Series, a new model line, but their lineup still gets more expensive with each new generation.

The leasing is based on the dealer, not the manufacturer.

Lease deals generally start at the manufacturer level, not the dealer level. A manufacturer's finance arm creates subsidized lease rates/finance rates to move the metal.

But it's usually the dealer that backs the deals. That's why lease rates for the same model can vary so much by dealer.

How could a car mfg. make such different driving cars?
I have a IS250 and it handles and drives great.
I was given a loaner (an ES350) and the car was horrible. Handling and fun-to-drive quotient is probably lower than anything on the market. The car should be removed from the market until they somehow work this thing over so there is some connection between the steering wheel and the road.

Well, it works for those who don't want a connection to the road. They just want something to move comfortably from one place to the next, with decent mileage and decent interior space. The ES350 gives them that. It's obviously a winning formula. I don't like it, either, but it's not going away any time soon.
