News on the BMW 7-series refresh

Sources are telling us that the latest introduction date for the refreshed 7-series will be by the end of January 2005 at the latest, although it still could show in LA or Detroit.

From one of our blogs on posted on 12/23

Ok, went to the BMW dealership today with my dad to pick up his new 645ci (which is seriously cool btw) and the salesperson (who i've known for 15 years) had a file from BMW with all the details of the new refresh. This is for the UK but it will be pritty much the same worldwide:

-The 745i will become the 750i with the engine upgraded from 333bhp to 363bhp and 4.8 litres from 4.4 (Is that the same engine as the X5 4.8?)

-The 735i will become a 740-with an upgraded engine (cant recall to what size-I think it war roughtly a 10% increace in power)

-There are changes to the front and the back of the exterior. "Touch points" are enhanced (eg steering wheel) Interior also revised with changes to I-drive (but not the simplified version as in the 5/6)

-In the UK dynamic drive moves from standard to optional and heated front seats, glass sunroof and a new style of 18 inch wheels become standard equipment.

-Sadly there were no pitures-just descriptions of the changes-aparently these will be shown at the official press release on the 28th January (in UK anyways)

-There will be an increace in price of £700 odd (in the UK anyway) on the new models.

-First delievrys in UK for very late April/Early May!

Hope this helps. I will be proved right on the 28th so you can all thank me then lol. Cant wait, love BMW's!

"At least the 3 5 7 look very different, in size especially. "

To you they do, but to most people, they could not tell the difference w/ the badges removed.

Is the BMW 7 series relevant any more?
