Prediction: 373 flame war comments at the end of the day. I'll start:

Could it be that nissan gave them the key to upgrade the ECU?

Impressive, but exhausts and big brake kits are 1st level performance upgrades. If they own a GTR the big brake kit and exhaust would be low hanging fruit for any tuner worth his salt. The real question will be can they crack the Nissan ECU and get at the parameters that will add significant power or develop more radical cams, stronger internals etc. Also, alot of people are wondering just how much power or should I say torque, the DSG tranny can take. I am sure there is power left on the table, but the exciting stuff will be here in a couple of years, not right out of the gate.

Didn't see that video, thanks. I agree every ECU is hackable, its just a matter of it being profitable to hack it. With the hype around the GTR, I only see the GTR being limited production for the 1st year or two maybe. My local Nissan dealer is already bragging about the new GTR equipment they are getting for their service dept. He has 15 deposits for GTRs and is only allocated 2 the 1st year. No way this car remains limited production, that would be like throwing money away....

Nothin new, anyone who bliefs any car is untunnable must b living in a cave, there is always something u can do to any car, even the most insignificant partchange.

If i had this car, i would not mess around with all the techno gizmos, i think the standard car is way too good to be messed around with.

It's needs a bigger wing and wider fenders.

And a growling exhaust :-)

Nissan should say if anyone adds any crap onto the car it will void the warranty.

We'll see if they do that.

no matter what tuners will find a way to hack the ECU, even if its voids the warranty.
