Top Gear Awards the Best Cars of 2007

Welcome to the Top Gear Magazine Awards. Not the result of endless 'road testing' or focus groups or even a poll of the public. No, our awards are decided by the tried-and-tested method of a long evening in the pub. And, no, we don't always agree on everything.

If you watched the last in the series of Top Gear on the telly, you may well have witnessed the boys nominating the new Ford Mondeo as their Car of the Year. Well, it's one of ours, too, but not the car of the year. To find out what that is, you'll need to buy the Awards Issue of Top Gear Magazine, but first check out the 11 contenders in our gallery.

Reading the article does clear up the controversy concerning the R8 vs GT-R. Best sports car goes to the R8 while the best supercar goes to the GT-R

I give the Nissan gt-r the ugly as an insect award.

I give the Hinda Civic the wedge of cheese award.

Why so much negativity towards Japanese companies?

Agree somewhat considering we dont get some of those cars here in the US, but calling the new C-Class interior beautifully made and expensive looking.....i think not.

I do not get the Fantasy and Dream car awards?!? Isn't that basically the same thing? I am shocked one US car made the list since Top Gear is anti-biased towards American makes. I also disagree with SUV of the Year. For Europe is should have gone to MB GL.

As for Nissan..look for the Rebadged GT-R as the Acura NSX in the near future. No wonder NSX is no longer Mid-Engine.
