Video: Land Rover LRX Concept in detail
While many of us won’t get to see the Land Rover LRX Concept until the 2008 North American International Auto Show that kicks off on January 13, AutoCar was invited out by Land Rover for an exclusive preview of the concept. Described as a three-door compact size vehicle with lighter weight and sustainability, the LRX concept is said to be a cross coupe that will fit under the Freelander 2 / LR2.

The LRX concept embodies the power management systems and other technologies first shown by Land Rover in the Land_e concept in 2006. More details on the powertrain will be released at the 2008 NAIAS.

I really hate that Matrix-style roof line -- what a waste of scarce rear head room. Ford needs to fire a few stylists.

The production version of this will probably end up looking about as close to this concept as the Range Rover Sport was/is to Range Rover Stormer Concept...

Which would be - Not At All!

Land Rover should bite the bullet and bring out an all new D90 to showcase what Land Rover does best....extreme off-roading with style.

It would be the return of their icon and bring much needed buzz to the brand.

Extreme off roading? I don't think so! The only off road worthy Range Rover I can think of is the Defender-90! Then again maitenance is $$$ My friend spent $10,000. on rebuilding his tranny on his Defender! Back to this vehicle, what a hideous interior! The outside looks ok.This sales man annoys me! Either he thinks we are all dumb or he knows nothing about cars! Did he say anything factual!

I could see GM jumping on this segment if happens, think of a the styling of the LTZ Tahoe as a two door, make a removable hardtop...and heck call it the Blazer, I guarantee it would sell
