R35 GT-R Exhaust Test

R35 GT-R catback exhaust test in it where some shop fabricated a titanium catback exhaust and the car made 507.9ps (500.95hp) to the wheels. Granted, this test was conducted on a Dynapack so it probably read 5% or higher than any other dyno, but the gain of 22ps is for real. If you can’t do the math, that’s 485ps from the factory which is pretty god damn buff already considering the car is rated at 480hp at the flywheel (proof that a Dynapack reads high again). The boost went up by 0.1kg/cm^2 (1.42psi) due to the reduced backpressure, but this also tells you that the car has some serious potential from the factory.

I agree wholeheartedly with just about everything you say but just for clarification, one small additional point.

You are correct in saying the peak power is realized when the engine runs just rich of stoichiometric. The reason for this is due to the existence of a chemistry phenomenon called dissociation. The combustion reactions that occur in the cylinder, given proper input energy can go either way. simplified greatly, HC + O2 <-> H20 +C02

The effect of dissociation means that even at stoichiometric, some of the reaction will go backwards leaving a small amount of free O2 in the exhaust.

Running the engine slightly rich, takes advantage of this slight O2 excess and burns it as well providing an increase in power output and more complete usage of all available O2 in the combustion chamber.

Idiot muffler guys are going to make me believe that only 7 HP is lost from engine/flywheel to the wheels?!?!? LOLOLOL Just salesman propaganda, but I am sure it will give the car 10HP at the Flywheel.
