Ford working on a new rear-wheel-drive architecture

According to a report by Automotive News, Ford executives confirmed that the company is developing a new rear-wheel-drive architecture for its Ford and Lincoln brands.

“It’s important going forward,” CEO Alan Mulally said at a dinner with journalists in suburban Detroit.

It's about time Ford got really smart. There is hope for new life for a vehicle like the Town Car. Looks like Hyundai scared the shit out of Ford (and others) with its new Genesis.

The only reason Ford has woken up is because of Mulally! He has been studying Toyota and other successful manufactures to improve handling reliability and to indeed create an overall better product. I also agree they should collaborate with Ford Europe but make it more fit for the American market.
