Ford UK to offer new performance upgrades for Fiesta ST

Ford is offering Fiesta ST customers in the UK a unique opportunity to buy performance upgrades for their cars through a choice of two special dealer-fit options. The Mountune Performance Stage 1 package will retail at £1,435 (plus fitting) and consists of a high-flow air induction system, a high performance exhaust system including high flow catalyst and tubular manifold, and re-calibration of Ford’s potent 2.0-litre Duratec ST engine to produce 165PS.

The more powerful Mountune Performance Stage 2 package will cost £1,838 (plus fitting) and adds new camshafts and valve springs to the basic package to deliver 185PS.

Yet another car Ford should bring back to the US. Plus 1 for Ford flopping it again.

Hence GM is making waves by bringing essentially the entire Opel lineup over with very minimal changes and making them Saturns. Maybe it's time Ford thought ahead with the spend money to make money and had plants here start producing or pay the money to start bringing these models over. They missed with the Focus by giving us a lame version of the old chassis with a new body and weak engine. When are they gonna listen to consumers and stop rebranding cars like the 500 and Freestyle to the Taurus and Taurus X. Give the Taurus an optional engine with some oomph, make the Lincolns look less like the Mercury's and look less like the Fords.

Yes Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti, Toyota/Lexus have different cars with the same bases underneath, but they at least look different in most respects instead of changing the taillamps, wheels and badge.

Kudos to Ford europe for continuing to evolve. Even Ford Australia is years ahead of what we have here.

It would be interesting to know how Ford gathers its data on what Americans want. There is always complaints about why Ford does not bring vehicles made in other countries to the States. Ford should rethink.

Then again Ford may not want Euro and oher countries to feel that Fords offerings are not exclusive and thus less desireable.
