R-design for C30, S40 and V50

R-design for C30, S40 and V50
The R-design package for the Volvo C30, S40 and V50 includes a choice between 10 exterior colours and the R-design badge in the grille is accompanied by a range of specially designed exterior and interior details.

Exterior features include a silk matt-finish grille, colour co-ordinated bumpers and lower side mouldings, rear or roof spoiler, silk matt-finish door mirror caps and five-spoke aluminium wheels (17 inches, 18 inches available as option). There is also a deco trim on the trunk lid of the S40 and tailgate on the V50.

Contrasting seats
Inside the car there are seats in off-black Flex-Tec with the seat cushion and backrest in contrasting cream-coloured leather. The R-design logo embossed on the backrest and the contrasting stitching reinforce the seats’ sporty appearance.

Other R-design interior details include the leather-trim steering wheel with its R-design logo, the unique combi instrument, aluminium pedals, specially designed aluminium centre stack and door inlays, gear selector with aluminium inlay and tufted dark sport floor mats with contrasting light leather piping.

A selection of R-design features will also be available as accessories.

Emotional and extrovert
“R-design is entirely in line with the accelerated focus on making our cars more extrovert and emotional. It gives the buyers the opportunity to spice up the already distinct personality of these car models,” says Steve Mattin, Senior Vice President and Design Director at Volvo Cars.

I don't know which is more annoying: kraut_master or a mosquito. Sometimes i wish the Internet had a flyswatter function. k-master, please don't bother posting if you have nothing useful to offer.

Volvo makes a decent car, but in the US market, the bang/buck just isn't good enough, in my opinion. As far as I can tell, these "R" packages are tasteful but expensive and functionless bolt-on kits. If you are an enthusiast, however, this may be your last chance at an R-series Volvo. I doubt Tata will dramatically improve the performance, handling, or design of Volvos in the near future.

Just deboost and his crap will disappear after (I think) -15.

He'll figure it out when nobody gets to read it.

I would prefer a Volvo over an Audi if I was forced to choose!

You like Jaguar, and in the case of KM, probably Lexus. Both Audi and Volvo make some of the best cars there are. So, shut up.

You're not alone. I prefer the V50 over the V70. I once tried to convince my wife to let me trade my car in for a fully loaded V50, because of all the travelling we do. I think it'd be the perfect travellers car.

The C30 is a noce looking car.Too bad it does not quite drive as well as it looks. It is in bad need of a true sports suspension system.

I like quite a bit of Volvo's line up - the C30, C70, V50, S80 and XC90 are all liked by me.

I find it very hard to beleive that volvo and mazda are owned by ford. If they ford can produce good line ups for these brands then why not for the ford brand itself? Well at least in NA that is...

OK, I've owned 5 Volvos before my current BMW phase and still own a V70. That being said, I think Volvo is diluting the 'R' badge. The 'R' was always the hotter engine and some kind of upgraded suspension.

I see no mention of any actual engine upgrades here.

But...I do like the 30 and it would be high on the list for daughter lewishamiltonpimp when she goes to college. Never really liked the 40 and 50. I hope the new 60 is received well when it comes out although I doubt it would drag me away from buying another 335/535.

I'd like a c30 or s80. both look neat inside.

Sorry, but Volvos don't do anything for me. They're fine, nice, easy to live with. But I want something more.
