g37? i dunt think it can compete with the TT, TT is smaller, u can have s2000, 350z, miata, z4, cayman, boster, but g37? nope....

realistically the G37 would run with this car, performance wise, and given tests of the TT, its not quite a true sports car the G37 should be faster, and may outhandle it as well

you are quite wrong, handling wise the TT 2.0 and 3.2 are superior then many of their competitors.
And we'r not even talking about the s version.

love the looks, but why only 268 HP when the Z4 M coupe is putting out 330HP? Hopefully Audi is saving room for a TT-RS to compete with the Z4 M coupe.At least it looks muxh better then the M coupe.

yeah but a 13hp increase over the model belowis paltry to say the least. The estimated times for this car are even the same as the car below it, with that said this should have been an s line package not a new model. It isnt particularly lightweight so that argument really is null and void, because that would make the 200hp model faster than it is. but hey if your logic stops at styling, this is the car, it looks good just doesnt make much sense

First of, this car is light for a AWD vehcile, 1395g. There aren't many AWD cars, if any which are lighter.

The model below it, the 3.2 weighs more then 1400kg, and officialy does 0-62 in 5.9 seconds. 0-62! not 0-60. This on is officially said to do 0-62 in 5.2 seconds. Quite a diverence.

Not to mention the handling difference between this and the 3.2. Just look how superior the Audi S3 is in terms off handling compared with the A3 3.2, or any of it's competitors.

No version of the BMW 1-series hatch can keep up with the S3 for example, even though the top 1-series hatch also has 265hp.

The 250hp TT 3.2 at that is already faster on a track then the 265hp BMW Z4 3.0i

It doesn't need more power! It really does not! Why is that so hard for people to understand? 0-60 in under 5 seconds is sensational for a car at this price, with this mileage, with these looks!

bmwdrvr, this TT-S has a 2.0 liter TFSI engine putting out 268 horsepower and 258 lb.ft of torque.

Sure the increase in horsepower may only be 13 over the TT 3.2 V6.

What you haven't realize is the TT 3.2 with V6 has 13 less horsepower but significantly MORE weight due to the use of a 3.2 liter engine instead of 2.0 liter

Combine more horsepower and torque with less weight and you have 0-60 times that should be right around 5 seconds.

The Audi TT-RS will have a 350 horsepower engine and considering the TT-S will have 0-60 times around 5 seconds flat, the TT-RS should be able to hit 0-60 in a nice 4.6 seconds.

Very competitive for this segment and likely faster than the Z4M coupe and Roadster.

Beautiful car, but IMHO, this is what the base model should be. The pricing for the TTS is said to start at $60K, and probably be closer to $67K once you're out the door. That's competitive with... nothing. Everything in that price range is faster. Heck, my STI, while less stylish and sophisticated, is a better pure performance care for half the price. Want a TT-RS? Just add $15K to the top.

Yes, these are desirable cars - but the price points are the issue.

You're right, that is competitive with nothing, and that's why it won't start at $60K. It will most likely be under $50K with the coupe, and just above for the roadster.

People still haven't learned not to compare US with Euro prices?

Germany: 265hp BMW Z4 3.0Si 43K Euros- 272hp Audi TT-S 47K Euros

US: 255hp BMW Z4 3.0Si, 40K$ - Audi TT-S 272hp, probably just north of 40K$

Have you actually been in an Audi dealership and looked at the sticker prices? A base model TT is "just north of $40K."

Sorry folks, but the price tag for a TTS will be north of $60K. I wish it wasn't true - because I would consider buying one otherwise. The upcoming Corvette will be at the same price point, and is a lot more car for the money.

You are simply incorrect! The thing you have to do is compare S3 prices to the A3 3.2, and do the same thing for the TT 3.2 vs. TT-S!

In this case, very surprisingly, the S3 actually costs LESS than an A3 3.2 quattro DSG three-door.

Which, one can assume, means that the TT-S will cost less than the TT 3.2! Putting it about $40K! However, I have a bit of doubt as to that happening, so it'll probably be $45K.

BTW, the TT-S is not yet available on the UK site, but the difference between the A3 and S3 is £1,220. However, the one that is more expensive is the A3 with S-Line... without S-Line, the S3 is more expensive by about £500. Still a minimal difference.

no way in hell will it be close to north of 60K. For alittle more you will be able to get the upcoming 450HP RS5. Audi would be crazy to put a price tag of 60k+.

That's because they are probably converting from euro prices which is a silly thing to do.
