Detroit Auto Show: Maybach 62S Landaulet goes topless in Detroit
Maybach brought its 62S Landaulet Concept over to Detroit after unveiling it at the Dubai Motor Show in November. This exclusive Mayback convertible offers fun-in-the-sun for rear-seat passengers as the driver pushes the 6.0L V12 engine with twin turbochargers that produces 612 horsepower.

Since all Maybachs are supposed chauffer driven cars, Maybach offers pampering to only rear-seat passengers rather than the driver. The roof of the 62S Landaulet can be fully opened at the rear, while the chauffeur’s area remains completely closed off to the world. Rear passengers also get the entertainment package with a DVD-player, six CD-changer, a cooler compartment with its own electric compressor and an intelligent system which holds glasses, goblets and champagne bottles safely in position.

Whenever I see a Maybach I think its another Chinese ripoff of a MB.

True. I don't get what is so appealing about those Maybachs. The exterior design looks very uninspiring and not very prestigious.

Totally pointless unless you are a head of state.

And quite bland on the outside.

These cars are DESIGNED to appeal to heads of state...thats why they seem "bland" to us mere mortals. Bling is for kiddies, so let 'em drive RR Phantoms...

I would rather have a Maybach than a Phantom.

But ultimately, I would rather have an S-Class or a 7-Series than either. I cannot exactly explain why.

i always like the interior, but the body reminds of a pretty up S-class or vice versa, give me a drophead please, or down grade to both A8 and LS

You need to have a serious alcohol issue to buy a car that can "safely hold a champagne bottle" just to take a ride from you downtown hotel to your private jet...

These cars are ridiculous, they are complete overkills.
I think they share more in common with motorhomes than passenger cars.
