First pic of the next LS from Lexus?

This photo was posted on the AutoWeek forum over two months ago with the same suggestion. As xj40 says it is not the next-gen LS sedan, but the Japanese-market V6 Toyota Crown (Athlete or Royal - the minor trim differences are obscured by the tape), which will also be produced in China this later this year. The V8 Crown Majesta is slightly longer and has different tail-lights. The original Lexus LS 400/Toyota Celsior shared a deliberate family resemblance to the smaller, midsize Crown sold in the same Toyopet dealerships, however the 2007 Lexus LS (not the LS 500 either) moves to Lexus dealers in Japan and will no longer be the Crown's big brother.

Looks like a bad version of the New S-Class... Not an original bone in the Lexus body.

The Next Generation Lexus will be replaced when the Toyota Celsior as it is called in Japan is replaced.

The point I was trying to make by posting the pic was to counteract the other pics shown as the New LS and not to decry it.
American and European car companies are doing the exact same thing by re-badging other cars as high end luxury. Like the Volvo S40 which has the same underpinnings as the Mazda6, The Saab hatch back which is the Subaru WRX, etc, etc. Not to talk of Cadillacs, Lincolns and Buicks. We can go on and on.
The differrence with the Japanese is that they are perfectionist when it comes to their luxury brand/rebadged cars.
They are almost faultless...And that is why a lot of people are turning to them regardless if we post pic of them as Toyatas, Hondas & Nissans.

You will almost never see a Japanese luxury car broken down on the high way due to some rush to production fault as you would find with European luxury cars. Take the Mercedes ML SUV's they came out with a lot of electrical problem. The BMW 5 series..people reporting that they caught fire after driving down a couple of blocks after purchase.

If we are to critize the japanese, let us be constructive. Had it not been for the japanese entering the luxury market, we would still be driving those if you remember '80 Benzes and BMWs that were full of problems. How easily we forget.

All thanks to Acura which started the trend and Lexus even though some say the styling is bland has been dubbed all around the world as the most luxurious, most reliable car in the world. That car company has won awards after awards around the world.

Benz did not even make the top 20 in the European JDE Powers list of reliable cars. BMW came in 10.

It is a good thing we have people like The Jackal that could break things down for people like DeJa vu to understand.

You know what I dont think this discussion will go anywhere.

What exactly is the point that those nay sayers are trying to make. The LS is Reliable, Luxurious and has made the top 5 for the past 10-20 years in a row.....End of Discussion.

It is now left with the others (MB, BMW etal) to do the same.
