The new Audi TT just got the S Treatment, Now brace yourself for the RS. Hot new photos surfaced of the Audi TT RS, latest RS addition to the Audi lineup. Yes the Audi TT finally just got the S treatment- which was just revealed at the Detroit Motor Show, but we're sure you want to know what the fuss is about for this hot new TT-RS.

Expect horsepower figures in the 340 to 365 range from a turbocharged engine. The front air dams/ aerodynamics give this TT the signature RS look and we are sure if you could here it you would think the same as well. Of course lets not forget that this TT RS is going to need bigger brakes and wheels to stop this Quattro beast. The only real question left is whether we will see this car stateside?

This is where i draw the line.

It like giving the Smart a 197hp engine and allowing it to reach 155mph.

The TT is too small in my opinion to have this much Power.

The problem with the TT-RS and TT-S even, is that they are too expensive for what they offer. Barely anyone would pay 55-65K for a Turbo I4 no matter how good it is.

The TT-S will be 45K Euros, why would you think it would cost 55-65K is the U.S?

Considering how the Audi S3 is actually less than the A3 3.2 three-door S-Line in the UK, the TT-S will be about the same price as the TT 3.2, rendering the 3.2 useless. The TT-RS won't be much more; $60K tops. And it will be WORTH IT. Getting 360hp out of a small engine? If anything, that's worth more, because it's so much easier to get that power out of a large, heavy, gas-guzzling engine. This is Audi engineering at its finest.

I do respect the fact that you do not want to see the end all TTs with a VW derived 2.5L inline five. Think about this route. BMW basically chopped two cylinders off the M5 V10 to make the new V8 in the E92 M3. Yes, I do know that this doesn't change the balance of the engines, but you see my parts bin approach. Audi is synonymous with the parts bin approach a la the new RS6 with its Gallardo derived V10. Albeit with two slugs bolted on. So, going with the Gallardo derived V10 tangent ponder this; in theory take the development of the new RS6 engine, smartly engineer off half of its cylinder banks, put a whole lot of Audi alphabet soup in (TFSI, DSG, etc...) and produce a TT worthy of the RS name. The RS moniker is very hallowed to the Audi brand. We all know how the first RS badged car they produced was golden, the RS2. I don't think that Audi will disappoint themselves by purposely developing a bad TT-RS.

Just a thought.

Coupe is a 2+2, but the rear seat is useless; roadster is a pure two-seater.
