Sneak Peek At The New Hyundai Sonata Interior

Sneak Peek At The New Hyundai Sonata Interior

Here is a sneak peek of the upcoming Korean spec Hyundai Sonata interior.

The Sonata is the bread and butter sedan for Hyundai and competes directly with Toyota's Camry and Honda's Accord for the all important US midsize market.  Hyundai reportedly is banking heavily on this redesign, and it  pulls more than a few styling queues from it upscale bretheren, the Genesis luxury sedan destine to compete with Lexus and Acura in the US.

Man! That's a seriously pleasing 'looking' interior, and if it's up to (the very nicely finished) Azera quality standards, it'll be a pleasant place in which to be...

Nice Job!

Just because the accord and civic's interiors look like they came from a spaceship doesnt mean theyre from the future or ahead of anything. In the midsize class, the accord and camry are easily the least pleasing to the eye, but they both have enough lemming followers to remain popular.

agree w/tattedtwice to certain degree..However when you feel the solidness of buttons to gauges with no free gap plays..you'll truely know the meaning of quality.

DROOPYSAKK, you have it wrong, the 2008 Accord still only has a SOHC V6 engine while the Sonata V6 is a DOHC version.

wow! In this class I would have to say that just might be the best interior. It's really close this or the new Mazda 6's interior..

You have to see and touch and feel the plastic physically (not just look at a photo) before you can infer that the plastic is el cheapo.

I can hardly wait to see the Genesis which is mechanically superior to the Mercedes as it offers a 300 h.p. DOHC V8, RWD, and LSD. You have to go to an overpriced AMG version of Mercedes to get LSD and only one very few models.

Not bad! That's a strong product for domestic and mitsubishi, suzuki, still lacks quality of honda and toyota.

Have you even been in a Lexus before because if you have, that makes no sense. If you haven't, I can see where your biased opinion would come from.

Last Saturday I went to the MotorTrend auto show and I got to sit in an Azera and I was less than impressed. I'm just not a Hyundai person. The interior might look nice, but the quality is laughable. I'm not saying that the new Sonata is the same, but the Azera is supposed to be the most upscale Hyundai, next to the Genesis.

...i don't know why people can't handle the facts. If the Azera is their most luxurious car, you'd think it would have better quality than their cheap cars.

I was on the phone and did not pay attention to the title of the artcile as I opened the link and thought it was a pic of a Lexus interior -- good job Hyundai.

Rosko, I thought you were crazy the minute you spammed people with your overwhelming love for Hyundai, but when you say that Lexus has lower quality than Hyundai, well, that just proves that you can't be taken seriously.

"Genesis luxury sedan destine to compete with Lexus and Acura in the US"

no matter how many times you say it, that still doesnt make it true.

There used to be a saying "saying it's so makes it so" but I don't support that. However, I would say that the Genesis is an excellent competitor that handily beats Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus for value.

Looks like a blend of RX and Camry. Upper part of the dash is RX and lower part is Camry. anyway nice. And great for a sonata.

but still sonata(current) is nowhere near the Camry and Accord quality, relibility and desirability. Current Sonata's interior is so cheap it can't even match the Corolla's interior. Civic, Accord and Camry are too ahead.

but this upcoming one looks nice and seems to be
getting close to Altima's quality.

its a Lexus knock-off, if Hyundai wants to be taken seriously they should make designs unique to their identity. say what you want about Honda Toyota even Ford and Chevy, has its own identity.

i just think Hyundai needs to crawl before it walks, lets reward them yet.
