Auctioned Audi R8 goes for $425,000 equaling highest price paid for R8 ever

The Winner of the Customized Tony Chi Audi R8 is Robert Peterson of California for $425,000

The net amount of cash being donated to the charity of Mr Peterson's choice is $265,000

We recently received word that the last of the Audi R8 was purchased by a lucky bidder by the name of Robert Peterson. Mr. Peterson final price for the Audi R8 was a total of $425,000- the highest price paid ever for an Audi R8 to date. Additionally the Audi R8 , which was auctioned of through the Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Book, made history as the highest priced item sold through their catalog! Best news of all of course is that Peterson gets to drive the only Audi R8 customized by Tony Chi and $265k goes to charity- whether or not Tony Chi will continue to do R8 customizations or if this is just a one time thing is undetermined. We can't wait to see the photos...

Actually kaisersozedude, Dave Ressler does. Back in 06 he purchased the 53' Corvette serial number 003 for $1,000,000, so needless to say he has the money.

The guy that spent a million on the ZR-1 is getting a huge tax write off. Everiting past the 100k price of the ZR1 goes to a charity, and is tax deductable, same with the challanger and the R8.

Just in AutoCar Middle East gave the Car of the Year 2007 award to the Audi R8. It also won the people's choice award.
