We first showed you the teaser shot as well as a few spy pics of the Focus RS last month. The new Focus RS is a successor to the ready for action 2002 Focus RS but also pays homage to the Cosworth Escort RS that is still a gorgeous car by today’s standards.

Powered by a 280-hp version of the 2.5 liter 20-valve five-cylinder turbo that powers the Focus ST, the Focus RS makes additional power with modified pistons, cams and valve springs, a bigger turbo, a larger intercooler and modified electronics. Top speed will be governed at...

Of course this UK Focus is the equivalent to the US Mustang with 300hp.

We drive bigger cars in the U.S.A. and the Brits drive smaller cars.

OK?

So why should we have an ugly focus, and they an attractive one?

You won't like the low bumper after you park it against a curb or parking lot divider.

If Ford brought this here, it would really help their sales; especially with guys considering a Civic Si, Mazdaspeed 3, Volkswagen GTI or something similar.

(why bother typing this is what I'm thinking right now - as we all know, FoMoCo doesn't give America it's best products - and America is still loyal to them.)

Well, if FoMoCo brought the UK Focus over here, it would be FoMoCo's nicest US product, so that wouldn't make sense!

THEN BRING THE MONDEO AND THE FIESTA AND THE S-MAX HERE, TOO!!!

That is the ultimate solution!

forget the feista. Make the S-MAX a next generation Edge, Mondeo next jaguar S class, Ford Taurus

With it's power, this is actually in Mitsubishi EVO and Subaru STI territory... sans AWD :-(

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why I havent lost faith in Ford. They still can make amazing products (and I happen to agree with an above post, the GT, Mustang, Falcon are amazing as well) Now if they only brought this over to the US...

The Mazda 3 and Volvo C30 are based off the new European focus chassis. Want that engine, go by a C30 with the T5 and upgrade it.

Ford sucks right now and they need to do something to help their small car market. As the Corolla, Civic, Sentra, 3, all get their updates they lay waste to what Ford offers.

If you want a European Ford, grab a Mazda. The 5 is the current S-MAX over there. The 3 is the Focus, and so on.

Ford US is a shame and not worth even a drive by the dealership.

ford can't even get things straight in their home market which is a shame. Even GM is wise enough to bring the astra to our shores as well as the G8. W/e we want sonething nice, ford does the opposite.

It's no wonder Ford is behind! Why Ford wouldn't bring this car to North America defies logic! Maybe a Labotomy might help?
