I was just at my BMW dealer looking into placing an order for an M6 and I noticed something interesting on his order sheets...besides the new 2006 7-series exterior and interior colors and combos...

It looks like it will be a short model year for the 2005 5-series.

We'll be seeing 2006 525's and 530's (with totally new engines)rolling into dealers in the next 6-8 weeks as 2006 models.

Though this would help your readers if they're negotiating deals right now...

Also, the 550 comes in October/November.

It's all in the Roundel, 525 - 210hp, 530 - 255hp.
Also 3 AWD models, 525xi, 530xi, 530xi wagon. Uses X3 xDrive system.

Supposed to be the 550 this fall with the new 7 series engine.

I knew about it months ago. Doesn't bother me. I got an unbelievable lease deal on a loaded 530i. MSRP $53,000. $513 a month/36months/36,000 miles. I took delivery in early Jan. I,m sure there will be even better deals on'05's. Sure, you,re not getting the R6 engine, but what the hell, it's still a great car, and at the end of three years, there's no down side and I'll probably buy a 330 coupe with ZHP, or whatever it's called by then.
