2008 GENEVA AUTO SHOW: BMW Bringing Eco-Friendly Concept Along With M3 Convertible
MUNICH, Germany — An environmentally conscious concept alongside the world debut of the M3 convertible will show BMW's commitment to both green and performance technologies at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show in early March.

Additionally, BMW will show two new powertrains for European 1 Series and 3 Series cars. The concept car is being touted as one of BMW's Efficient Dynamics concepts. While details are scarce, the company has previously used the Efficient Dynamics name for concept versions of the X3 and X6 with hybrid powertrains.

goob -- what are you talking about? BMW is the leader in concerns about the enviroment. Did you know that we have a production plant , Spartanburg, South Carolina that just uses recycled material from a Lanfill. " The Landfill gas project was formally adopted as an eviromental improvement program in 2001 as one of the requirements of BMW's enviromental management system. Using landfill gas as an alternative energy source reduced area carbon dioxide by 43,000 tons which would equate to 93 million miles driven per year by the average automobile. " How is that not enviromentally friendly?

Then with BMW's efficient dynamics program, BMW's current line of engines is producing some of the lowest emissions of all cars.

Since the 3 series, 1 series, 5 series and X5 are all the most efficient in their classes (lowest CO2 and best mileage), I think what you say is incorrect GoObama.
A 320d has fantastic mileage (58 UK combined, roughly 48 US), and only emits 128 g/km CO2, plus does 0-60 in 7.8 seconds. Amazing technology. On the highway it gets over 68 mpg (57 US)!!! And considering the 3 series is the 10th best seller in Europe, and the 320d the most popular engine, it's all looking good.
