Nurburging to get world's fastest roller coaster: 0-217km/h in 2.5s

Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife is a Mecca for racing enthusiasts around the world. Its sweeping curves, variable surfaces, and dramatic climbs and drops can humble even the best drivers and has quickly earned the track a reputation for being one of the ultimate tests of driver and machine. The track, however, will soon have a new type of fan as plans are already underway to turn the area next to the circuit into a theme park.

Scheduled to be opened late next year, the star attraction of the park will be a new rollercoaster capable of accelerating to a top speed of 217km/h in just 2.5 seconds. That’s two seconds faster than a F1 car takes to reach just 200km/h.

That is just sick! I was on this roller coster in Cedar Point, Ohio that accelerated from 0-120mph in 4sec and that felt insanely fast. This will be doing 0-135mph in 2.5sec? I dunno how the avg human body can even absorb all these g's. I sure would love to try it lol

That's only about 2.6g. So the Average human body will handle it without problem.

o u know how to calculate g's? 2.6g's doesn't sound that bad but I swear that 4 sec pull was extremely dramatic and made my insides feel funny...this is nearly twice as quick as wat i felt...lol i think half will pea in their pants.

4 g is equal to 4 times the regular amount of gravity on earth -1 g is regular gravity.

So if you experience 2.6 g on acceleration, it means that you will fell 2.6 times your regular weight pushing you back on your seat.

The Dodonpa in Japan can accelerate quicker: 0-172kph in 1.8 sec. It also uses a compressed air system to launch.

Ah...my two favorite worlds connect. I rode the current tallest and fastest rollercoaster on earth...Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure. That did 0-128 in 3.5 seconds. It reminded me of Spaceballs..."ludicrous speed....goooooo!!" Too bad this new reollercoaster will have no hills or special elements.
