Interior is very poor indeed. It's a shame, really, because this car is just beautiful aside from that.

Can't buy anything with that performance for $40k. That's why the interior looks the way it does. Bare bones for the guy who can't afford (or doesn't want to buy) an M3, RS4, etc. And given the state of the US economy, bang for your buck is critical.

If I were Dodge I'd be more concerned that potential buyers opt for a used E46 M3 or S4.

Sorry but I have to disagree. Base Corvette with the huge discounts available I have seen for about 41,500. That is a small diff in price and a much better car with better performance. Sorry it might look nice but there are cars out there that will compete in performance in that price range. Remember the Camaro will have similar if not better performance at a lower price. And the Camaro unlike the Corvette will have a back seat too. I think the exterior is one of if not the best overall retro Muscle car designs but I agree that American car companies have inferior interiors. Nice seats though.

The Corvette interior is absolutely horrible. And Vettes have that stigma about them. If you are over 35 driving a Vette you are in "Mid-Life Crisis" mode.

This Challenger screams "I want bang for my buck". And with the extra savings I can redo the dash if the materials feel as bad as they look!

With that said I'm not selling my E46 M3 for this. I'd rather take it to Dinan and see this Challenger in my rear view mirror!

Regarding the dash I thought the gauges were in aluminum. But from the pictures it looks like serious cost measures were taken.The dash is nothing special.In fact rather dull. For a near 40 grand car this is not acceptable. The Mustang Bullit has at least Aluminum across it's dash,has similar performance and costs 7 grand less.True it;s got less HP but it also weighs 500 LBS less then the Challenger.It will be interesting to see what they charge for the 6 speed RS.That would probably be the best buy.

This car has such a cheap interior. The folks at Chrysler LLC really need to step up their came when it comes to their interiors. Dodge has the worst out of the whole Chrysler LLC brand.

This car is an overweight joke. In a year it will be a flop.

I think the Camaro looks much better.

From the time that the 'concept' version of this vehicle was revealed, I've taken issue with its design.

Sure, it looks cool, but I strongly believe that Chrysler has crossed the line that separates Heritage-Inspired Design and Blatant Replication.

I'm sure there will be those who will appreciate this effort, but the 'Shelf Life' will indeed be short (even shorter than it usually is for coupes), and Chrysler would have been much better off having designed a more modern looking vehicle 'Inspired' by their previous automotive-icon (much as Chevy did with the Camaro) rather than showing absolutely no originality and copying it.

To be honest i've had just about enough of these retro cars. It was a neat idea in the 90's that was destroyed by the actual product itself (The mighty Thunderbird with a 6 cylinder?! A 4 door Charger?!...come on). With upcoming CAFE regulations and the movment to more ecologically sound vehicles, do we really need this trend to continue?

What the new Challenger is essentially is a 2 door Charger with a nice retro body style. The dashboard is similar. While the Challenger has a shorter wheelbase it's no lighter. The suspension is tuned slightly softer then the Charger and the exhaust is a little louder. I was expecting a 500 LB lighter coupe with more aggresive suspension and brakes. The Charger SRT 8 is what 3 grand cheaper. I say if you can live with 4dr practicality save your money or further by a Mustang GT and save over 10 grand.

There's more to a car then just its interior. The Challenger is reminiscent of a 60's muscle car with the appropriate minimalist interior design. This is not a competitor to German sports cars nor was it ever intended to have a cushy interior some of you sissies believe is mandatory in every car.

I don't think we were expecting a cushy interior. However for 40 grand you expect a little more then acres of gray plastic.A bit more chrome or aluminum to break of the dark cavern interior would have been nice.It;s just that after the great exterior design you are let down by the interior.Frankly both Ford and GM get it just like Audi gets it. People spend their time "inside" their cars. So why not make the interior and inviting place to be.

The overall exterior design of this car is just absolutely beautiful. However, the interior design kills it. I would rather pick the new camaro instead.

I am an Grand Cherokee SRT8 owner and this is virtually the same engine. The interior may not be that of an import, but if you have ever driven an SRT8 with this engine it is represents true American Muscle. Blowing a $100,000 Porsche 911 in a straight run on the highway is worth having less of an interior. Between the retro-updated styling and engine I am looking forward to seeing and HEARING this car on the road.
