2008 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW GALLERY NOW LIVE! Spies Scoop Exclusive First Pics Of The BMW Tii Concept
The Spies are at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show doing what we do best and that is bringing you the best photos and scoops from the auto show floor.

Submitted for your approval:

As our competitors are traipsing around shooting photos of exciting products like the Chevy HHR (NOT!), we caught these exclusive photos of new BMW Tii concept half undressed before it's official unveiling at 3:15PM Central time at the BMW Booth.

Of course we'll have more shots of it up later today so keep checking back often.

Another highly anticipated unveiling here at the show is the 2009 Acura RL and we've got the first real life shots of this new and improved RL with AcuraLink® weather, AcuraLink® Traffic Rerouting™, a new Note function for XM® Radio, Active Sound Control, and Bluetooth® Audio.

We will be adding more photos throughout the day in the 2008 Chicago Auto Show Photo Gallery sponsored by our friends at Lexus

They claim it will be lighter than the 135i

Is this going to have any more horsepower than the 135?

I love it. I hope they put it in production exactly as it is too.

Is that the new RL? I really hope it changes, it looks like a disfigured TL. The interior, however, is excellent.

what has happened to acura? their last few designs have been losers.. and now more of the chrome clown look front end.. hey acura this is not a sony play station game it a car that you want american car buying public to find attractive - this is not the right direction..

this is the rl revision. i have owned 6 acuras - i would like to consider the rl however have never liked the front or rear.(like many acura people)so i was excited to hear acura about the acura update - but this?i would never consider buying something like this - has someone come before the show opened and glued a fake front grill as a joke?

That Acura TL is a disaster, that front grille, I hope, is not production.
The X6 is still not to my taste.
ON page 8, that Ford monstrosity is somewhat comical.
The Volvo which thinks it's an Audi with the LED lights, is not an audi, when it comes to gap, check out the door (mis)alignment.
That black mat finish on that Lexus IS-F, man, nice, every time I see that car I like it more.

At least it seems they got the Tii right this time. If I remember correctly the last one was that crap box 2 door hatch that was the size of a Hyundai Accent, had no power, and came in BMWs oh-so-famous Pearl Green or whatever you wanna call it. Blech!!!

I used to laugh at the owners cause it was considered the poor man's BMW, much like the Porsche 928 was the poor man's Porsche.

And the original 2002tii you refer to is a classic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_2002tii

It brought BMW out of near bankruptcy and put them on the map in the US. Sounds to me like thay got it fairly right.

And you're right 1996e34, the 928 was one of Porsche's most expensive offerings when it was in production:

Whelan - perhaps you mean the 924, which was a 4 cylinder model built in collaboration with VW? Or the 912, another 4 cylinder?

Both were ugly. My neighbor has a classic 911 that he auto crosses on weekends at Limerock, him and his buddies get a laugh when they see one of those come around due to its FR layout.

And Wikipedia is not the end all of answers, it is made by people like you and me so it does get very biased.

I was also referring to the 318ti model, as it was a BMW front end and some 90's Accent from the doors back. Had no appeal to me at least. And in the US we had the 138hp engine, Europe got the 2.5 w/ 170hp. Once again showing that fun things often get skipped over by America.

The 928 is an awesome car - my mum had one. 5 litre V8, great cruiser, yet at the same time handled amazingly.
