Chrysler cutting more models

There’s been a lot of excitement surrounding the launch of the new Dodge Challenger, and officials are hoping this excitement won’t die off soon after the car hits the road as is often the case with hyped up sports cars. Chrysler lags its Detroit rivals in sales by a significant margin and desperately needs halo models like the Challenger, like the 300 before it, to be a hit with the public. If initial sales are anything to go by it appears Dodge may have pulled it off.

Officials expect to sell between 20,000 and 30,000 Challengers per year once the full lineup goes on sales, a modest target it seems considering the first full year run of the flagship SRT8 model (priced at $37,995) has already sold out.

Yes, disappointing when Yahoo News is doing a better job of giving the real auto news this morning. when I went from Yahoo to Autospies I was looking for more info on the story. Lo and behold, another Challenger article. Joy.

Chrysler does "big halo cars" better than GM and Ford, with the exception of the Corvette, but I do not know about this. Specially with the new Camaro coming too.

Chrysler is reducing its dealer force but not without a fight. Old line families still want to sell service and cars but Chrysler needs to trim down as soon as possible.
Look for Chrysler to again be taken over, the current group knows nothing about the industry they are aleady in very dire straits. Like most already know on WALL STREET and Detroit Chyrsler has a terminal illness, the only cure is to break it up in bits and pieces and then disolve the name and company as it is known, Jeep will be retained and a few models but for the most part Chrysler will RIP like AMC?

This is obviously a technical glitch. I've been thinking about it.Regarding the Challenger before I give my final verdict on the interior I need to see the car in person. I'm assuming I might have acess to one at our regional auto show in April.The SRT8 priced at 38 grand is a little dissapointing for its bland interior in the photos. However if you get the same interior in the RT or SXT then perhaps the interior is not so out of wack.I am hoping you will be able to get an RT in a manual tranny. In addition to there being less weight over the front wheels for better handling its acceleration should be closer to an SRT8 with an auto.I would also guess that the manual tranny would save 150 LBS of weight.
